Timestamp was proud to be a Platinum Sponsor at DSPA Insights 2024, one of the biggest Data Science and AI events in Portugal, hosted by the DSPA – Data Science Portuguese Association, at the University of Lisbon's Faculty of Sciences.
Luís Leão, a Board Member at Timestamp, shared his thoughts on the event: “DSPA Insights gives us the perfect platform to show our partners, peers, and potential clients the great work we’ve been doing in Data Analytics and AI. It’s more important than ever to come together as a community to talk about the future and decide how we can offer the best possible services to our clients.”
On 18 September, Pedro Gomes Mota, Chief Data Officer at Grupo Brisa, took the stage at the invitation of Nuno Almeida, Business Development Director for Data & Analytics, Big Data & Cloud at Timestamp. Pedro led a session called “Breaking through the buzz: unlearning to build a lasting Data & AI strategy.” His talk centred on the idea that to keep pace with the rapid evolution in Data & AI, we sometimes need to unlearn old concepts and approaches.
Nuno Almeida reflected on this, explaining: “When you look at the three eras of data – Business Intelligence, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence – you quickly realise there are many entrenched biases that hold us back. We need to unlearn these if we’re going to keep evolving.” He highlighted one key takeaway from the session: the importance of aligning Data & AI. "When you do that, it allows the Client to set clearer project KPIs and boosts efficiency during implementation."
“At Timestamp, we always put the Client’s needs and goals at the heart of everything we do, from diagnosis through to implementation and management,” Nuno added.
On 19 September, Joana Ferreira, Big Data Engineer and Cloud Dev Team Leader at Timestamp, presented DKHub, our cutting-edge platform that blends artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics to manage and analyse data more effectively.
Her session, titled “Understanding consumer behaviour through semantic AI and knowledge graphs,” showcased how DKHub transforms raw data into actionable insights. Using a playful example of opening a vegan hot dog restaurant, Joana illustrated how businesses can make smarter decisions with enriched and qualified data.
“With DKHub, we turn raw data into insights that are not only clear but also strategically aligned with our clients’ needs,” Joana explained. She went on to describe how DKHub helps create highly detailed digital profiles, from demographics to consumer habits, all while correlating these with real-time geolocation data. “In short, we give clients precise, data-driven insights that help them make decisions to boost their business efficiency,” Joana concluded
